Link shapes that work
A desktop address looks like https://www.threads.com/@name/post/CODE. The mobile share sheet often copies https://www.threads.com/share/CODE. Older notes mention threads.net. Both hosts are accepted. A code by itself is treated as a share link. What does not work is a profile URL, a search URL, or a link that only loads after you log in.
If the preview is empty, the post is private, gone, or has no media. The troubleshooting guide lists those cases without asking you to try a password. You should only save posts you have a right to keep.
