What happens when you paste a public Threads link on ThreadsVideoDL. Last updated 5 November 2026.
ThreadsVideoDL does not require an account. We do not ask for your Threads username, password, or session cookie. If you send those anyway, do not. The downloader is built to refuse anything that is not a public post URL.
When you load a post, the server receives the URL you pasted, the IP address of the connection (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and standard request headers such as the user agent. The public page is fetched from Threads, media addresses are read from that page, and the file you choose is streamed to your browser. We do not keep a library of downloaded videos or a history of links tied to your name, because we do not have your name unless you email us.
Download links are signed and expire after a short time so an old preview cannot be reused as an open proxy. Media is fetched only from Threads and related public content hosts (such as the Instagram CDN that serves Threads files). Other websites cannot be requested through the download endpoint.
The contact form collects the name, email address, and message you type. If an email provider is not configured on the server, the form tells you that and shows hello@threadsvideodl.com instead of pretending the message was delivered. Do not send passwords or payment card numbers in that form.
We do not run advertising cookies and we do not sell personal information. The hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection data as part of serving the site and blocking abuse. Their handling of that data is described in Cloudflare’s own privacy materials. Locale is chosen by the URL you open, such as /id/ or /hi/, not by a tracking cookie.
The site is not directed at children. Do not paste links to content that involves minors in a sexual or exploitative way. Those requests are refused as illegal.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information you have sent us, such as a contact email. Write to hello@threadsvideodl.com. We will respond to requests we can verify.
This policy can change as the tool changes. The date at the top of the page is the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you have the updated policy available on this URL.
