A Threads video is an MP4. Its soundtrack is usually AAC audio in the same file as the picture. ThreadsVideoDL copies those audio samples into a new M4A file and leaves the video frames out. That is a remux, not a transcode. The audio is not run through an MP3 encoder, so there is no extra generation of loss from a second compress.
People search “Threads video to MP3” because MP3 is the familiar word for “just the sound.” If a tool or editor you use refuses M4A, open the file in VLC, choose Convert, and pick MP3. That last step happens on your computer. The Cloudflare Worker that runs this site does not include ffmpeg, which is what a server-side MP3 encode would need.
Paste the post link and wait until the video card appears.
The server fetches the MP4 and returns the audio track. Photos do not have this button.
Play the M4A as-is, or convert it to MP3 locally if you truly need that extension.
Because the audio inside a Threads MP4 is not MP3. Renaming AAC to .mp3 would make a broken file. M4A is the honest container.
No. The audio samples are the ones from the public video.
You get a clear error instead of an empty download.
